It has a colourful history. In the 7th century, it was the site of a 7th-century monastery. Over the years, it has been a deer park for the Scottish aristocracy and a mental asylum.
At the southern tip of the island, there are the ruins of a 14th century castle. Nobles have been murdered on the island and exiled to it. Others have taken refuge on Inchmurrin.
This 30 minute long quad bike safari is a great way to see both the island and Loch Lomond from a whole new perspective.
Family day out
It would be great for an adventurous day out and would be perfect for a stag or hen do. Quad biking is open to anyone over the age of sixteen and you don’t require a driver’s licence. All of which means, it would also be ideal for a family day out with older kids.
There is a hotel on the island and, after the quad biking, visitors are welcome to drop in for a drink or a bite to eat before catching the boat back to Cameron House.
If you wanted to stretch your muscles a little more, there are plenty of walks on the island and the truly brave could even seek out one of the quiet beaches for a swim.
Switch off the telly and explore Inchmurrin island with this exciting Big Deal on a quad bike safari.
